What is a long-range transportation plan (LRTP)?
A Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is a 20-year plan that determines present and future Tribal transportation needs. Goals are set throughout a LRTP to address factors that relate to a Tribal community’s: land use, economic development, environment (natural, human, and cultural), traffic demands, public safety, health, and social needs, among others. Through evaluation and analysis, an ultimate list of prioritized projects will be produced to serve as a guide on transportation investments based on necessity and available funding.
