BLR Transit News

The Blue Lake Rancheria Transit System is continuing its transition to low- and zero-carbon fuels.

The public transit buses currently use biodiesel, manufactured at BLR using waste oil from the Tribe’s kitchens (which began as a student-led feasibility study).

The next step is to transition to Electric Vehicle (EV) buses, and use the low-carbon, low-cost electricity from the BLR microgrid to “fuel” the buses.

Cost savings are reinvested in the transit program, with the continual goal of increasing service to the Mad River valley region.
