Blue Lake Rancheria’s Communications Department is dedicated to fostering clear, effective communication both within the Tribe and with the broader community. We manage the Tribe’s digital presence, branding, media relations, and public outreach, ensuring that vital information and updates reach the people we serve. Through creative content, social media, and collaboration with various departments, we support the Tribe’s mission and promote its initiatives.

Meet the Communications Staff

Toni Ramos Brown

Communications Director & Tribal Administrative Assistant

Toni Ramos, grew up on the Blue Lake Rancheria and has dedicated over 15 years to giving back to the Tribal community that raised her. With more than 25 years of experience in art and design, her expertise extends across multiple creative fields. Toni has cultivated a diverse skill set, including illustration, animation, photography, web design, product development, apparel and textile design, content creation, and strategic marketing. She holds a master’s degree in fashion design and a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, both of which have deeply influenced her approach to communication and visual storytelling.

Toni’s strong commitment to education highlights her belief in ongoing learning and personal development. She is currently pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree in filmmaking at Cal Poly Humboldt, expanding her expertise in film production. By combining her extensive design experience with her passion for storytelling, Toni crafts impactful narratives across various media platforms.

In addition to her role in Communications, Toni serves as a Tribal Administrative Assistant, where she has developed strong organizational and collaborative skills while closely working with the Blue Lake Rancheria Tribal community. She is also the Tribe’s Public Information Officer, further enhancing her ability to support the Tribe through strategic communication and crisis management.

Isak Brayfindley

Communication & Project Coordinator

Isak Brayfindley is passionate about environmental justice and climate action, and has for nearly a decade worked alongside local Native communities. Isak is a graduate of Cal Poly Humboldt, where he earned a degree in Journalism.

He has consistently supported Tribal Sovereignty and workers’ rights throughout his career. Isak began his tenure with the Blue Lake Rancheria in the Tribal Education Agency during the Covid 19 Pandemic. In working with the Tribal Education Agency, he sought to advance educational and career opportunities for Tribal community members and their future generations.

Isak now serves as the Blue Lake Rancheria’s Communication & Project Coordinator, where he oversees strategic messaging, social media campaigns, and ensures accurate representation of the Tribal Government’s initiatives. He remains committed to fostering change and enabling a sustainable and just future for the region.
